Weddings have always been at the heart of what I do. There's something about the combination of the Lake District landscape and two people choosing each other that produces photographs I never tire of making: all the weather, dramatic fells, still lakes, ancient churches, vibrant barn receptions, fell top elopements. The Lakes does weddings like nowhere else.
I photograph weddings across the whole of the Lake District and Cumbria: from intimate elopements with just a handful of people to full celebrations at some of the region's most beautiful venues. My approach is the same whatever the size: relaxed, unobtrusive, focused on real moments rather than manufactured ones.

How I photograph Lake District Weddings
A little about how I workI believe the best wedding photographs happen when couples forget I'm there. My job is to blend into your day, anticipate moments before they happen, and capture the things you'll want to remember — the quiet look between you during the ceremony, your grandmother laughing at the speeches, your children running across a fell in their wedding outfits.
Location Location
The Lake District gives us extraordinary backdrops whatever the season. I've photographed weddings here in golden summer light, in dramatic autumn mist, in crisp winter frost and in spring rain that turned out to be some of the most atmospheric images I've ever made. Whatever the weather, the Lakes delivers.
Venues I love
I've photographed weddings at many of the Lake District's most beautiful venues — Storrs Hall, Cragwood, Merewood, The Gilpin, Lakeside Hotel, Another Place, Lodore Falls and many more. I also love working with couples who want something less traditional — a fell top ceremony, a lakeside elopement, a small hotel with just the people who matter most.
