A Sunrise Proposal on Loughrigg in the Lake District

There's a stretch of fell between Ambleside and Langdale that doesn't get nearly as much attention as its neighbours. Loughrigg and the viewpoint in front Todd Crag sits quietly above the lake, offering a view down the length of the lake that most visitors never bother to climb for. Which is exactly why it made sense for a proposal.
This particular couple had travelled from the north east and somewhere in the planning, Harry decided that the Lake District was where he was going to ask Maddie to marry him.
He got in touch with me and together we sketched out a plan for the celebration, his chosen fell was off-limits with the Lakeland 100 ultra race taking over 1000 runners onto it's peak over the weekend so we decided on this particular spot together. It was accessible from their hotel in Bowness on Windermere to meet the early sunrise yet a large enough hike to feel completely secluded.
I headed up ahead of the couple and hid on a peak, capturing the moment from afar before joinign the couple for a portrait session including epic mountain shots with my drone.
Here is a little highlight video along with a few photographs from the extensive gallery we captured. Ready to plan your proposal photography in the Lake District, get in touch and I'll help you to find the perfect spot!
