Some weddings simply glow! Not just with light, but with a quiet joy that lingers. This day at Hause Hall on the quiet edge of Ullswater was one of them. Nestled in the heart of the Lake District, surrounded by rolling hills, this intimate celebration felt deeply personal and full of heart.
The couple began their morning apart getting ready with family and I joined the bride as she put on her jewellery and dress. A beautiful soft pink and green floral dress that suited her and the surrounding perfectly. And we took a moment to appreciate a necklace handcrafted by her father to match the couples handcrafted wedding bands. And a paper boquet handcrafted by the talented bride.
The ceremony took place outside under a perfect spring day and was full of happy emotion. Readings from the bride and the groom's mum's. Smiles exchanged, hands held tight, a few joyful tears.
Following group photographs, canapees and a toast to the newly weds. I joined the couple on an adventure up Hallin Fell. With the sun still high in the sky it was a warm ascent and the couple shared a special whisky on the summit. No rush, just connection and a moment or two to take beautiful portraits framed against the fells.
Back at Haus Hall, friends and family relaxed, admiring the views and sharing tales over drinks before sitting down to a gorgeous meal with caterer's Gingersnap absolutely delivering. Every plate that came out looked beautiful. Fresh, seasonal, thoughtful.
A natural, heartfelt, beautifully unforced day.
To the happy couple: thank you for letting me witness and capture your story at Hause Hall It was a joy from start to finish.
